Lost in Nature - the Architecture of Jarmund/Vigsnaes will be on display in Steinberg Hall from Friday, October 30, through Sunday, November 29. In conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, Einar Jarmund of Jarmund/Vigsnaes Architects will deliver a lecture from 6:00pm-7:00pm on Oct. 30 in Steinberg Auditorium.
Jarmund and Hakon Vigsnaes established Jarmund/Vigsnaes Architects in 1996 in Oslo, Norway, with Alessandra Kosberg joining as a third partner in 2004. The firm works across a wide architectural range, with commissions primarily in Norway but also in other European countries. The majority of the firm's finished works are public buildings and housing projects, though it is also involved in urban planning and building interiors. The firm eschews general stylistic approaches, developing an independent concept for each and every project, with emphasis given to early participation in creative programming and an attentive relation toward the surroundings.
