Visiting professor Ginés Garrido, co-principal of Burgos & Garrido Arquitectos in Madrid, will deliver a lecture about his work titled On Rivers and Bridges. Over the past ten years, the office has focused on the design and construction of public spaces, parks, and land planning from the perspective of social and environmental sustainability. Garrido served as director of the amibitious, complex public space project Madrid Rio River Park (12th Veronica Rudge Green Prize), which was recently completed. BGA is currently working on other large-scale urban projects in Spain, Perú, Colombia, and Slovenia, and other social housing projects and public buildings in Spain, The Netherlands, and Australia. BGA's projects have been published internationally and its works have been recognized with more than 30 first prizes in architecture and landscape competitions.
