The undergraduate curriculum consists of a concentration of studio art courses in two-year components, the introductory Core Program and majors. In addition, courses in art history, literature, social science, and natural science or math are required and provide a well-rounded educational experience.
The College of Art subscribes to the standards for the BFA degree as set forth and accepted by the College Art Association of American (CAA) and National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). View the BFA requirements.
As you grow as an artist and individual, you will be guided, inspired, and challenged by an intimate community of students, faculty, and administrators. Practicing artists and designers form the art faculty, and professors you will get to know in the classroom and beyond are researchers and practitioners—all actively contributing to the growth of their profession. You will find a rich educational dialogue maintained by our small size—one faculty member for every 12 students in the studios—and correspondingly small lectures and seminars creates a rich educational dialogue.
